I Have A Social Media Page … Now What?

This is a common problem I come across with my clients, but many of them don’t know they are not alone. Businesses now understand the importance of having a social media presence but don’t understand what they are supposed to do with it. This of course is where I come it.
I met with a client yesterday, and here was my advice.
As a marketing consulting, of course I want to say “yes you need a full time social media marketer on staff with great pay, and it should be me.” But of course this is not the case. This business will do well with social media, and I recommended that they spend 3-4 hours a week on social media marketing. This of course is not many hours allocated to social media marketing, but for a small local business like theirs they don’t need more than that. That is the misconception in this industry, many businesses feel they need to spend hours and hours monitoring mentions and tweets, when the reality is, if you manage your time right with social media marketing you can be way more efficient with only a few hours per week.
Did you know that many small businesses spend less than $100/month on social media marketing?
