This afternoon I came across a report from PR daily called "the 10 major brands that will disappear in the next 18 months"
This list originated on the 24/7 Wall St. website which often publishes lists of 10 brands they believe will soon disappear. The results of these lists have been said to be mixed. I was interested to learn that Blockbuster was on one of their previous lists, and now seeing the different Blockbuster locations closing, I am interested to see the outcome of their next list.
Currently this list notes the 10 brands that will disappear in 2012:
1. Sony Pictures
4. American Apparel
6. Sony Ericsson
7. Kellogg’s Corn Pops
9. Soap Opera Digest
It is intriguing to see the mix of food, clothing, technology and entertainment brands said to disappear by 2012. I was a little surprised to see such stores as Sears and American Apparel on this list. I was, however, not surprised to see such brands as Nokia and MySpace on the list. I personally haven't used MySpace in well over 5 years, and to be honest am a little surprised it is still around. To learn how the site chooses the brands and why these particular brands earned this year’s dubious honor, read the full story at 24/7 Wall St.
