The Top 5 Online News Stories

Unfortunately for many people the death of Osama bin Laden has brought back many bad memories. But with the announcement of the death comes many feelings of joy and a sense of justice for some. I read an interesting comment on Twitter a few weeks ago “given what he has put the American people through, he should not be a trending topic on Twitter. He does not deserve this publicity.” The death of Osama bin Laden has received so much news and media coverage, it has been named the number one newsmaker this year, according to research by General Sentiment.
This of course is followed by a more happier story of the Royal Wedding in second place, the Super Bowl in third, the Oscars in fourth place and finally the finally of the Oprah Winfrey Show in 5th place. General Sentiment is a research company that tracks and analyzes online news, blog posts, and tweets and other social media.
